Our goal with Ottawa LibraryFind is simplicity. We wanted the app to do one thing exceptionally well – allow users to find out if a book, dvd, or game is available in the library. Using sophisticated bar code scanning technology, Ottawa LibraryFind allows you to rapidly browse the availability of any title.

It’s Easy!

Simply aim your iPhone camera to scan the bar code of a book, DVD, CD, or game, or manually input the Title, ISBN, or Author, and let LibraryFind do the rest. The app will search the Ottawa Public Library database and determine if what you are looking for is available. Quick, simple, and easy!

Apps4Ottawa Contest

LibraryFind was originally created for Apps4Ottawa, an open data contest designed to stimulate creativity and innovation in the city. This was a personal project for szello; a way to give back to a community that has done so much for us. What better way to do this than by encouraging the use of one of its greatest facilities, the Ottawa Public Library.
